For instance, I am 61 yrs., lots of energy, and am going through a divorce and I am not getting anywhere working things out w/ my husband, We do not have much money, He will not help me get restarted. I need (as well as many women my age) help getting into a place to live. I need to rent a room in the area I am from; Torrance, Redondo, CAlif., and I would need the money to secure a room for rent or a studio apt. I would then go to local employment agencies and apply for part time office work. I then would be able to work part time, recieve ssd, and also work on starting a small business of my own. It is very hard for women like myself to get into a place without help. Most likely they, like I would need to move and then get help with the divorce. Otherwise we are at the mercy of our husbands. Life is good, too good for this stumpling block. Where I someone like myself get this help. I have been all over the web, different senior sites, shelters, etc. I would appreciate any advise or direction.
